Coordinating a deployed ship

During the System Phase, a ship deployed from a huge ship by executing a 5 speed straight maneuver. Later, during the Activation Phase, the huge ship performs a coordinate action. Th range of the coordinate is not modified by any other abilities, so it remains limited to range 1-2. Is the deployed ship a valid option, considering that it’s generally accepted that range 2 is equal to 5 base lengths, or a 5 speed straight maneuver (template)? Regardless of whether the ship deployed from the front or side of the huge ship, the smaller ship’s rear template guide nubs are certainly at range 2, but does the base itself need to be at (eclipsing) the edge of range 2 to be selectable?

Ship guide nubs are not valid to measure ranges, ranges must be checked to the target ship base.

Considering range 2 equal to a 5 straight template is not officially accepted, the only accepted method to measure ranges is using the range ruler contained the in X Wing core pack. This method must be used due the possibility of small manufacturing differences between official templates and rules, so you need to check with an official range rules to verify that the deployed ship is a valid option.

Third party components may be used but only if they match official components measures.
