If a Vulture/Hyena leaves a rock/debris with a 2 straight and lands on another rock/debris, does it ignore the effects of overlapping since its struts are open at the time of overlap?
Similarly, what happens if the 2 straight is blocked and it lands on the same obstacle it tried to leave?
A ship will ignore the effects of overlapping an obstacle while its Grappling/Landing Struts are in the Open position.
Grappling/Landing Struts (Open) read: "You ignore obstacles at range 0."
If the ship is physically on top of an obstacle, by rule it is also at range 0 of that obstacle, so any effects triggered by overlapping that obstacle during the maneuver are ignored.
Once all steps of executing the maneuver are complete, the Grappling/Landing Struts will flip to the Closed side, the ship is no longer ignoring the obstacle, and the ship is now subject to the effects of being at Range 0 of the obstacle (but not the effects of overlapping the obstacle).
