Forgetting a dial while ioned

If an ioned ship forgets to assign a dial. Does it gain a stress and do the Stress Maneuver and retain its ion tokens? Or does it perform an ion maneuver; and if so, how is it resolved?

If an ionized ship forgets to assign a dial, that ship will gain a stress token and then execute a white 2 straight stress maneuver. Since it did not execute an ion maneuver, the ion tokens are not removed and the ship remains ionized.
