Ketsu needs to go...

I am a scum player. I love the fraction and all its shenanigans. However now listbuilding is just puting Ketsu, with basically a standard loudaut of Qi'ra + Mando Optics and Nym (also with a "standard loudout"). Her ability to give tractors "just because" is ridiculously over-powered, especialy when she is priced on 15 points. She can grant Wedge's ability for the whole squad, and it's not a fun play experience for the oponent.

I see few ways that could fix this issue with Ketsu:

  1. Increase her cost. Currently she is doing way too much for 15 point ship, so 16/17 points would be more fitting in my opinion.
  2. Loose the "Mandalorian" title. She technically is from Mandalore, but from what we have seen in "Rebels", she doesn't really care for it (she doesn't wear her armor, and leaves her own behind, which is not the way). That would prevent her from taking Mandalorian Optics, so it would be a little bit harder for her to ignore all the obstacles with Qi'ra.
  3. Ability rework. Maybe making the range restriction to just 1 (intead of 0-1) would make some balance? As for now she can just bump - because she will make the oponent roll with tractor, get range 1 with "fearless" and destroy at least half of the ship.

While I am aware that she is not as powerful when fighting medium/large ships, I still think that her being at 15 points is not really healthy for the game and she needs some rework.

She's a 30% squad cost, large base, predictable path jouster. Get turn zero obstacle placement right, pincer flank, make her 3 turn away from center, and she's largely done after the alpha engagement for the rest of the game.

Also Ketsu is kinda dumb easy to outmanuver if you plan it right. Qi'ra only gets her as far as her MOptics charges can.

I strongly agree with Fenn, particularly about ability rework. Ketsu shouldn't be able to tractor sth at range 0. just compare her to latts razi who costs the same, has to spend a lock, doesn't work at range 0, has way worse dial and way worse initiative. also 1 less defense die all for 2 more hp. and no mando optics. its wild how much better ketsu is.

Whats worse, it feels bad to play against ketsu. its one thing when sth shows up a lot cos its good (think sth like delta 7b ani) and another when its super strong AND messes with your things like applying a tractor.

In my experience if you have mostly small base ships in your list every game with Ketsu present turns into a game about ketsu. you are stripped of all agency other than loose or fly the only possible way to maybe not get murdered in round 2 or 3. Then Ketsu does a kturn and you play again. And sure, by end of round 5 ketsu is out out of contraband and optics and probably isn't in a great spot anymore. but also the game is pretty much over around round 5-6 more often than not. its just annoying that ketsu existing is enough to flatten the game to this scenario.
we should ban her to the shadow realm along sloane and bistan and release a new, less broken version. maybe only range 1, maybe option to remove a token instead of getting a tractor like assaj, whatever.

I don't think there's any appetite for that kind of behavior. The cards that get pointed to the shadow realm, effectively banned, without a banned list, probably should just make a banned list, but that's besides the point, just cannot be reconciled with the current state of the game. I don't think Ketsu is anywhere near that point tbh.
